Is the converter supposed to lock up while you are in gear 3? Mine locks up when i'm in the D gear around 42mph. When i'm in 3 gear i can't seem to notice if it locks up.

When you have a shop do a TC install for you do you get your stock TC back? Stupid question but i don't know.

 

Yes, and yes. The TC should unlock when you hit the brake pedal too. Only has to be pressed far enough to hit the brake light switch and it will unlock.

And yes, they should give you your old converter back, no reason not too. Of course, never hurts to remind them before you drop off your car
