it helps to have the trans not bolted to the engine. allows more room to work
first put a little trans fluid to lube the rubber grommet up. stick the rubber piece half way in the hole and then put the tube in and push hard. it also helps to put a wrench on the top of the flared thing and hammer the tube lightly and that usually sets it in place all the way.
