All the Steps to Convert 6speed to Auto?

All the Steps to Convert 6speed to Auto? Anybody have a list or a link?
Guess I am old now. I think I would drive my car more if it was an auto.
Most of the driving would be commute and the turbo would likely appreciate an auto more than the 6 speed.
Doing some research to see if I can do this for under $1000 out of pocket.
Meaning sell T56 and Spec III buy 460LE stage whatever handles 550rwhp and swap em out.
Any info you guys that have done this before have you can share would be great.
