Anybody know of a better input sprag??? I got my transmission rebuilt back in May. Corvette servo, 9-pack clutch, mild shift kit, etc., etc.
Last week, I lost 3rd and 4th gear getting on the freeway. Told my tranny guy what happened, and he's pretty much positive it's the input sprag.
After researching it much, and finally getting to actually see one (incidentally, out of another Camaro which has also dusted the input sprag in a stock tranny), I understand why it is a common failure point. The one in mine, and the stock tranny, are 29 element sprags, the latest and greatest.
Anyhow, does anybody happen to know of a stronger input sprag, or am I stuck babying this one? Thanks.
