Default determining stall speed

Can anyone go into detail about how to determine stall speed without removing the stall itself? I've read a few suggestions, but most are unclear. I understand there is no real accurate way, but im just looking for an idea of what i got. I think there is an aftermarket stall in the car.

from a roll, say about 20ish mph in 3rd or 4th gear mat it. this will give you about the best reading, BUT this will not work if the trans shifts

Lone warrior has a good suggestion, but that is tough with street tires. If you can force it in 3rd though, it will work. The true test is with a trans-break. The second best is a data logger at the track. You look for the first MPH reading and then see what RPM is.

What can you footbrake the current stall to?

Unplug your transmission as it will force third gear starts with max line.Mash the brakes and deck it. See what it goes to. Then plug it back in and clear the solenoid codes.
