Have an 04 Silverado 5.3 ext cab 4x2. Trans started slipping on my way home from work tonight. Went out to check the fluid, and it's dirty and smelly. Also, reverse will not engage. What other applications share the same transmission? Would an M30 out of an F-body work? I can find those used, cheap.

 

Yes it would work except there are a couple things that will need to be swapped. Shifter linkage and a pressed on sleeve on the output shaft are two that come to mind. I would look for a unit out of a truck if you are not comfortable swapping this stuff or have never done it before. Keep in mind a used trans might not be the best option. Might be better to have your unit built or have a built unit shipped to you. Feel free to give us a call. Vince
