I have a '93 Corvette with the factory 4L60 trans. The car is stock with relativley low miles and just "lost" gears 2 and 4.

I have a fully built and freshly broken in 4L60E trans (out of a '94 Z28) that I would like to swap in for an interim fix. What do I need to change physically and/or electronically to make it work?

I'm wondering, why can't the 4L60E run like the 4L60? In other words, how does the 4L60 shift without electronics and a manual valve body?
