Default 4L60E manual lever position switch??

Have a 4L60E with a 24229422 Transmission manual lever position switch bolted on the side of it. My problem is that the switch is just too big. I have a LS6 with the 4L60E in my '87 560SEC Mercedes and the MB shift linkage doesn't want to go past it.

It looks like the normal GM shifter linkage extends down from the shifting shaft. My Benz has a shifter that, in Park, has the lever rearward and as the shift lever is pulled to "1", it moves forward. That makes me use a shift linkage on the 4L that extends upward, which gets in the way of the Transmission manual lever position switch.

How does a Camaro linkage work?? Does the shift lever in the car have a cantilever mechanism that allows it to pull back on the 4L shifting lever?

Is there a smaller Transmission manual lever position switch that I can put on here to use with my '02 PCM?

Thanks,
Mike
