My stock 99' Trans Am won't go into park. I can't push the button in to shift at all. It will go into all the other gears and works fine but just won't let me put it in park. Does anyone know what could be wrong? Thanks.

 

Something is likley wrong with the shift lock mechanisim , I unfortunatley am not real familiar with how it works .

 

That happened to me a couple of months ago with mine. Took it to my mechanic and all he had to do was adjust the shift cable that goes from the gear shift selector to the transmission. Easy fix, nothing broken, after a while he said the cable sometimes just loosens up from their factory seeting and has to be re-adjusted. Hope that helps.
