Default Trans Fluid ?

I am planning on doing a converter swap in the next day or so. I just checked my trans fluid and its fried. I was told with the additives in the new tranny fluid it would make the trans slip from it cleaning it up too good. Is there any truth in this? Would it actually harm my transmission more from putting in new trans fluid? Should I not drain all of it and just add more to it?

well if your fluid is freied you better not do a converter swap you need to have the unit looked at and yes changing fluid in a bad tranny can cuase it to let out the magic smoke
