Really strange issue with Th400 transmission
Really strange issue with Th400 transmission I currently have a 90 e30 BMW with a 5.3l vortec, 100 shot, stock converter, th400;
I have been having alot of fun with the car but decided to put bigger stall in.
I put in a stall that a guy had and i think something went majorly wrong with it cause when the issue accured the car wouldnt go anywhere.
Picked up a new(used) trans, and a 2400 B&M converter. Got done went through gears on jackstands and it works. Put on ground and not much, filled up with fluid( which has a ton in it now) and all i can do is just let it rev up and then it will catch and start to drive.
Seems like it has to build up pressure or something?? ive driven stalled cars and this isnt right. The car will not move at all till rpms are reved up, and then it will catch and go.
Could it be clogged valve body or filter, or just a shot tranny?? Or something different?

Are you sure the used trans has a filter in it ?

Im not using the old stall, cause im pretty sure it was damaged.
And honestly no i dont know for sure if the trans has a filter or not...
It came out of a running car previously, then the engine blew so i wouldnt see why it wouldnt?? Never checked tho.
