Thumbs up TCI SSF 3500 Review

Hey guys well today I finally got my converter installed, went easy for a while and the on the way home I dropped the hammer, wow this thing is a whole new beast. I can tell the most difference down below 40 when accelarating hard. I love it from a roll now, the shift extension is great and its a very driveable converter. Only thing is I can defiantly see a higher stall in the future. Thanks guys

I had mine in for about 20 minutes before my tranny lost the 3-4 clutches. I just spent the better half of a day installing the convertor to have to turn around and take the tranny out so I can install a nice new set of Alto red eagle clutches. But I agree the car is completly different, I had no traction with 3.73 and bald drag radials. Hopefully in about a week I will have my tranny back together and can get some times from the new convertor.

Onebadz keep an eye on your fluid level the first week and snug up your pan bolts in a week or so after the new gasket gets hot.

My shift extension with the SSF3500 was ~4900 on the 2-3 shift. This wasn't by looking at the tach. This was checked by carefully studying Autotap. The shift points were ~6300. When I brought the shift points up to ~6600 after the heads/cam package the SE came up to ~5000 on the 2-3 shift.

I would agree with Colonel on the shift extension. I'm running a 224/224 .581 .581 112 LSA cam, ported heads, longtubes and other bolt ons, shifting at 6600 and mine recovers right 5000-5100...

I can't wait to see what this thing will do on the bottle
