4l60 shifting problems
4l60 shifting problems I recently rebuilt my 4l60(non E) with; billet 4th servo, beast sunshell, alto red clutches, input drum reinforcement sleeve, 13 vein pump, 3200 stall from edge, new seals, etc. The governor was checked by trans shop.
I also put in the transgo 2-3 shift kit and now it doesn’t shift into 3rd. I went through the valve body multiple times cleaning, checking valves, checking my work and to no avail.
So I took it to a trans shop and we rebuilt the whole thing, double checked the shift kit and everything seemed correct. Installed it and still no 3rd gear.
Ideas????

When you say no 3rd gear explain exactly what you mean ? What happens at the RPM its suposed to go into 3rd gear?

Once it is in decent rpms in second over 2500 for instance and i take my foot off the accelerator the rpms drop to 1100 or so and when i re push the accelerator it goes back into second and accelerates. It shifts fine from first to second.
can i put a valve body from a year or 2 back into and have no problem? That way i can delete the shift kit? The only difference I have seen is there is another check ball that late model 700s dont have

Did you air check the drum before installing? What was the clearance on the 3/4 pack? Did you replace the 3rd accumulator check ball in the case? Is the TV cable adjusted correctly? What year is the trans?
