What size TC do I need....Help!
I have a 2000 TA convertible with absolutely no mods besides an air box. I am wanting to start putting mods on my car and decided that a TC would be a good starting point. My question is which stall would be best for my application. Plan on putting ET streets and nitrous on the car as well. With a cam hopefully in the near future. Thanks ahead of time guys
I would check out the TCI and Yank sites---> they have a wide array of very quality TC's to choose from. I would defiantly go with something over a 3000 stall, my opinion go atleast a 4000 stall, I just had my TCI SSF 3500 installed and the car is sooo much better down low and up top, but I am contemplating going to maybe a yank YTP 4200 b/c for me the 3500 is a little less than I want but I love the thing. It really depends on what you want you use your car for.

Converter is EXACTLY the right place to start. What are some of your goals for the car? Do you plan to add a power adder?
If you staying N/A a Yank TP-4000 or SS-4000 work really wake the car up.
Do not go with any converter smaller than a Vig 3200.

picking a converter as far as i know should be based on where your tq is located at...with my fairly stock ls1 peak is at 4000rpms so realistically thats where youd want your stall to be at since hp is only an imaginary # made possible by tq...but it also depends on how streetable you want to keep it...i chose a 3500 stall converter because i drive alot on the street and very little at the track with my car...so its up to you but the lowest id go is 3500.
