long story short is at around 2000 rpm in each gear i have a a very bad vibration coming from the center of the car. When cold its really bad till i believe the tranny heats up and it starts locking up the convertor. When cold it will vibrate in every gear from 1500rpms up. Once hot it only vibrates from 2000rpms and only in 1st or 2nd gear. There no slipping that i noticed just a bad vibration.

This is a stock trans as far as i know with 87k on the clock and had torque management removed from the pcm. The fluid is not that great looking. Dark red then when you wipe it off it has like a black sludge on the stick. I dont want to change the trans fluid if it looks like the trans is toast since I dont have the funds to do so.


Any help would be great

 

I would look at U joints, Mounts etc before the trans , While te trans could be the culprit vibrations particularly temperature variable would be unusual for a trans failure.

I was having the same problem...that is strange. But mine also took a real dump for the second time this year, 2nd 3rd and 4th gear are toasted. But before when I would be at about 75mph I would get a real bad shake coming from the center console.

 

well just got the word its something in the transmission. Said they took it for a drive and then took it to a trans place up the street and the tailshaft is leaking. So now i get to see if i can get cash for a trans and convertor -.-

On the plus side i did want to put a convertor in it lol

 

yep its a trans problem. Living up to my title again with this one lol
