Default Trans removal help

I started pulling my transmission on my 2002 camaro last night. I ran into a problem. I cant get the transmission all the way out. I have about a 8 inch gap between my motor and the bellhousing but it will not go back further. I have wiggled and pulled and it just wont come down.Im guessing the input shaft has to come out just a little more for it to come loose. Please help.

did you unbolt the converter? what about the dipstick tube bolt from the back of the pass cylinder head? Is the shift cable out of the way? And at 8 inches you are prolly hitting the tunnel. These things cant go back far, they have to be lowered almost immediately.
