Default Trans keeps hiting the rev limiter

I have a built 4L60 with all the latest upgrades, a 3500 stall. As far as engine is concerned CAR the made 400 RWHP, heads and cam setup. The tranny has less then 500 miles on it. While going down the track it will shift into 2nd well but going into 3rd gear it always hits the rev limiter. The shift points are set for 6500. I thought at first the tuner set the rev limiter to low, so it was raised to 7000 rpm. Last night the same ****! I even let off the throttle to see if it would go into gear and it still hit the rev limiter. NEED HELP, GOING TO LSX SHOOTOUT AND NEED CAR TO WORK!!! HELP!! HELP!! HELP!!

make sure he has the WOT shift rpm set right. mine would bounce on the limiter too and then i look at the tranny settings and the wot shift rpm was wrong.

Sounds like the tune if you're sure the trans is fine. Could also be a stall wall issue with a tc that high.

Alot of times with a converter you have to set the shift point alot lower.I would drop the shift point to 6200rpm and see.

I was told by my tuner that the shift points are set by MPH. Which is the right way??

It isn't a 98 by any chance is it? Mine was a bitch to get right. I finally got the car and the tuner at the dragstrip together to ever get mine right.

We have a load dyno that does 1/4 mile runs.Makes life alot easier to dial in the shift point. Some cars are a bitch. If the gears were swaped make sure the tuner adjusted the downshift MPH too.Sometimes those are higher than the upshift and cause it to hold the gear.
