You can't go wrong with performabuilt, Frank is always very helpful and you can't beat there customer service. I have there performabuilt stage 2 and i am making 620hp with spray. Hope this helps in your decision.

I've seen this question come up time and time again. FLT or Performabuilt. I've never seen anything bad to take away from anyones posts thus far. They both build rock solid units, and if one broke the Sponsor was always their for support in some way or another.

If...I mean when my Transmission breaks, I'm going with Performabuilt.

If you want the best quality built 4L60E with the best customer service, the only two quality builders I could recommend would be Circle D or FLT. You will definitely get the best built transmission for the money with either of them. Running 9s with a 4L60e and having it last can only be done by the best IMO.

All can say is spend your $$$ wisely....... and you will never have to do it again.

My number #1 choice and only choice is PERFORMABUILT man. I ran a 4l60e for 3 year with over 350 passes on spray went thru one engine and the tranny is still going today. I gave it to my brother for his car.

Sound advice....you can search and search and you'll be hard pressed to find folks having any problems with these two companies.

Thanks everyone. Well in my case, I'm gonna need one soon enough. But buying out right is not an option right now. I've looked into it and Performabuilt has my attention pretty good. I like the idea of the whole Layaway thing. That will help me out allot...

Thanks again for all of your input............

please reconsider! your not going to get the trans until you pay for it in full so just save your money until you can afford a trans. and dont go with them! dont learn the hard way like i did.

Just ordered a level 5 from FLT.

So in a few weeks I'll tell you how she runs

I've heard that FLT, RPM, and Performabuilt are 3 of the best when it comes to the 4L60E and you wouldn't go wrong with any of them.

We have literally 1000s of happy customers but indeed on occasion we cannot make someone happy there are a hand full and i dont deny , The fact is you cant make everyone happy and the one above is indeed one. Not for lack of trying and i dont honestly know what went wrong because three of his units came back to us perfect and after a going through are in other cars locally with no issues. Well other than a broken bellhoushing on one that he sent back we could not do much with that?
We did end up refunding his money and even paid some r and i on it, It was unfortunate and I have no idea but in this business things happen and they happen to all. You do the best you can to make right wether its your fault or not thats all you can do and thats what we did in his case everything we could possibly do. We have cars in the 9s and low tens some for years doing fine. I guess just sometimes things dont work the way you would like them.
In the above posters case he does not apreciate we spent over 3 times what he paid to try and solve his issues whatever they were. which he fine he was not on our end maybe someday he will be and then he will will but I hope not really. And thats fine but its all you can do. I personally take pride in the fact he is indeed a rarity on and extreme level though I would like it if we could please every single one sometimes that just is not in the cards as they say. I stand on our reputaion and the 1900 some odd other customers that are happy. I recently did a mass email to all our previous customers and from the replies over 98 percent were happy and said we did everything right and were well pleased. I think thats pretty good myself. RANT OVER

All I know is I built the original trans, he put it in and it worked. Still going today.... End of story.

PB has their share of success stories as do we. I understand what Frank has said above however FLT definitely has some of the fastest auto's out there. I think it is for good reason. You guys decide who you want to spend your money with and go from there. There is plenty of work for all of us! Best of luck. Vince

I personally believe you cant go wrong with either one of these builders. I have not seen one negetive post regarding FLT. I have searched ALOT. I have seen a few customers with performabuilt issues. With that being said Frank always goes out of his way to make it right from what i have seen. Giving a complete refund on a performance transmission without doing the install or knowing all the details is crazy. No one else comes close to their warranty either. They have to build a good product if they can do that and stay in business.

Im running a performabuilt in my car have been since the day I bought it. That was my first mod since i had no second gear. Still going strong no issues here. We will see what happens when i do my heads and cam swap in a couple of months.

We just installed a 4L60E that was built by Lonnie at Extreme Automatics. He is known very well in the Buick world with the TH200R4 and built my Buick tranny which has been perfect.

Dude you are a retard, everytime someone starts saying something about performabuilt you have to add your comments. Just because you had issues, probably related to you don't know how to install things properly would be my guess. Get off performabuilt's nuts.
