I don't contradict. I teach. I also have been building the "best trannies money can buy"-from the words of my customers. Personally, I don't like to be put on that pedistal. I LOVE MY JOB! I don't need to be a sponsor. My actions have spoken since the 70's. What works on your car may not work on others, so there is a misconception. The gentleman had 2.73's, which are not 3.23's. The point is, engineering facts, not luck. If you don't appreciate FREE help-keep your opinions to yourself. I have litterally thousands of "thank you's" for the advise I take the time to help with. That is my reward. I also build motors, set-up diffs, set-up suspensions, etc. I'm not in it for the $$$. A smile is all I want to see.

For the record, most of what I see here is big and little tire combo's.

WOW! Back from the dead... These old threads just keep-a-coming back...

1st. Please tell me that you did NOT purchase a transmission from Mad Dog Lou.
If you did; return it NOW!

2nd. A 2.73:1 ratio ring and pinion set usually are not going to be a performance benefit...
However, there are many factors that contribute to how the car will perform/ accelerate...

-Vehicle weight
-Tire height
-Torque Converter
-Engine power output/ camshaft design/ compression ratio... ETC

If the links are for the same Mad Dog Transmission shop you bought from I would be worried, There were more than just these when I did a search.

Lou himself? Probably nothing... My only interaction with guy led me to believe he has a similar IQ relative to Forest Gump.

His business and his transmissions on the other hand, are both some of the outright worst a person could possibly find.
