whats the differance between 4l60e and 4l65e?

Default whats the differance between 4l60e and 4l65e?

would like to know what the differance is between these two.would there be any problem with an f-body pcm controlling the 4l65e?

Same trans the 4l65/70 have beefed up internal stock over the 4l60

Different trans.

They share the same case and tailshaft, some of the internal parts, but the 65E has the five-gear planetaries and associated parts whereas the 60E has four.

I run a RPM Level V 4L65E in my car which is controlled by the stock PCM, no changes for the internals differences needed changed in the tune.

I'm running an Extreme Transmissions 4L65E and the factory computer is controlling it just fine too, no changes needed
