The car is a 98 Z28, Cam only full bolt ons making 406/391 thru an unlocked converter, weighs about 3500lbs with me in it. 3.73 gears, currenlty have a older Yank ST3500 in it. I also have a small nitrous plate that I plan on run a 100 shot thru
Looking for opinions on what trans model to go with(I know 4L60E) and what size stall...

I would recommend a FLT level 4 for what you currently have. If you plan on going bigger in the future you might want to step up to one of higher builds. Seeing as you are running a Yank I would give them a call. They might be able to work with you on the current converter you have. Vince Bielanski
I feel that HP ratings are more of a sales pitch and really not always true. I have seen transmissions rated for 600hp fail with less than 350. I look at more of how the vehicle is built, what it weights and how it is used when helping a customer select a unit. I will ask what kind of power it makes but that is just to get an idea of the power it makes with the other variables included. In your case my suggestion above I think is a good one. I have had level 3 units go in the 9's and low 10's. However we will not recommend a level 3 for something like that. In most cases a guy had one of these units before stepping up the power. That is just how far they were pushed. Vince Bielanski
