Default help me on where to start!

Went to the track today, made 1 pass where the car was missing, Made the next pass and thought it was spinning. However the car just wasnt moving, I coased off the track. The car will pull just enough to make it move in any gear. However after reving the hell out of it to get it off the track and another to help get it on the trailor the fluid still looks and smells good. no shavings at all that I can see. Got it on the lift a few minutes ago and I thing the rear is good the best I can tell without pulling the cover. I dont get it. I could understand a tranny but I cant understand no shavings or burnt fluid. Any help Please??

Its all gears, But in limp mode wouldn't it run atleast 35MPh or so? This thing just barely pulls when you rev it to 4000RPm or so.
Im thinking torque convertor. what do you think?

Drained the fluid and it looks celan, It had a very few small shavings in the bottom of the pan and a small amount of normal clutch derbis. Fluid inst burn at all. i went ahead while I had it on the lift and pulled the tranny and stuck the stock convertor back in it, all I like is a new filter and fluid and it will be ready to try

Red face same problem

I have a bone stock 98 trans am, and I was going to the highway on my way to drill(USMC) and my transmission will not go into third. No burnt fluid, no shavings, and the fluid level is fine to me. I know a decent amount, but not enough to come to my eyes. I'm trying to figure out what is wrong with it without trying to spend money on a new transmission. Could you tell me in what resulted in your transmission? Also how you may have fixed it, cause I have a 4L60E and I think I'm in the same boat as you as in what problems I'm having.

Well problem solved, Well at least repaired.
Started this morning at 6 and would have had it done by 10, but I didnt get a filter and fluiid unitl about an hour ago.
Put the stock convertor back in and its works the best, Sifts all gears good and the lock up works as well. I guess Ill call Edge Tommorow and see about getting it repaired.
