Just had a tune done on my 98 Z and now my car wont shift out of 1st when I shift manualy . It shifts great when its in drive .But when I shift manualy it will only shift out of 1st when I let off the throttle completely .Any ideas what it could be ??

 

Hmmm ,nobody ?? I talked to the tuner ,he said no part of the tune would effect the manual shifting . What else should I look for ?? I was thinking linkage ,but as soon as I let off of the throttle it shifts fine .

 

Is it possible that parameters that the tuner has set up for shifting have not been met when you manual shift your transmission? I would have him take a look at this. Personally I do not see a reason to manually shift an auto trans. This should all be accomplished in your transmission tune for the best performance. Vince

 

Thank you Vince .I will have him do that . I dont usually shift it manually .Hardly ever .Just now with my Torq. managment turned down and 3;73's it pretty hard to get traction . With it in 1st ,I can pedal it instead of flooring it .Otherwise when pulling out of a turn into traffic the car will be in 2nd by the time I straighten out . I dont want to floor it and set the tires up in smoke .Just accel strong enough without torching the tires .
