Default Car Feels Slow Unless I Really Get On It

So I have maybe just under 300rwhp now and I can't go any further as I just barely passed smog and the limits could get lower in CA and a bigger cam won't help me there. Seems like that's plenty much but it still feels slow to me. So would a 3.23 to 3.73 gear swap and/or a built trans with 3200-3600 stall help? It's a daily driver so I'd like it to feel more peppy in the lower end, rather than having to dangerously push the gas more than I should on the street. I'm not into speeding, just accelerating. Maybe I'm expecting too much, I don't know.

My GF's 05 Mustang 3-valve feels more peppy in the low end than mine and is a bit funner to drive as a result. I'm not sure what her rear gear ratio is, it's a Saleen 3-valve (N/A)

A converter and better gears would make a huge difference.

I think with a stall, and gears (with a tune, and cooler of course) would really suprise you. My car is cammed, with a 4k stall, built trans and 3.73s.. Lets just say, its fun as hell to drive!!!

If you get a higher stall performance converter you would then be posting

"My car roasts the tires when ever I give it gas, what can I do about it" - LOL

If you need a recommendation on a converter, be glad to help.
