How to tell what tranny?
How to tell what tranny? I am having issues with the transmission shifting while drag racing. Basically it shifts into 2nd gear but never catches and motor revs to rev limiter.
I bought my 2000 Z28 a year ago and was told that the tranny was a 4L60E level 5, but the owner could not remember who's transmission it was. I want to pull the it and try to replace worn parts without having to get a completely new transmission.
So my question is, how do I tell who built the transmission? Or even if it is a built one and not a stock one?

Well we dont have a level 5 so cant be ours I think FLT and possibly RPM rate theres in that number system , If they are like us they mark the trans in some way to identify so i would call them each of them and ask what and or if they have and identifying marking on there units that way you can look for it.
