4l80e tail housing
4l80e tail housing I picked up a 4L80e the other day and it came out of a truck. It has the ebrake on the tail housing of the trans. Am i going to have to get another tail housing or can i just remove the ebrake housing.
Edit: I removed the ebrake assembly and it looks like i can just get a yoke for my current tail housing.
I have an 05 GTO so what yoke will i need.
The original yoke was fixed with a bolt if that helps.

Eric if you have a 4l60e in your GTO then that housing is not going to work on a 4l80e. They will not interchange sorry. You will need to get one for a 2wd 80. For the yoke, you will need to see if the output shaft has an oring on it or not. This will determine if you need a vented yoke or not. Also make sure to measure the length of the splines so you can get a yoke the is going to utilize them as much as possible. Good luck with the new trans. Vince

The 4L80e came out of a 2wd box truck.
once i removed the e brake assembly from the 4L80e it looks just like a normal tail housing. I'm assuming i can just get the correct bolt on yoke now
