Default Question about tow/haul mode

I don't really know much about how transmissions work and was wondering how the tow/haul mode works on a 2003 1500 Silverado. Is it normal for it to shift MUCH harder in tow/haul mode then when in normal? My truck shifts much harder and feel like it is going to tear it's self apart when in T/H mode. Thank you!

Thank you. So if I'm in tow/haul mode and not pulling anything it is supposed to shift as if it was not in tow/haul mode? Mine shifts hard even when in T/H even when not pulling.

just wait and see how it shifts when you have a shift kit AND the T/H mode on.
