how do you check the oil level in a 6L8E
hi guys
just finished installing the 2300 harrop supercharger on my ls3
and added a big traney cooler i want to check the oil level in the A6 box ??
the only plug is the one in the bottom of the pan at the rear looks like a drain plug ?
i was told that it hase a tube runing up in side LIKE AUDI and to get the trans warm 70/ 80.c
then take the plug out with the car idleing in park ?
and if the level is wright oil should just drible out ?
so i did that but the oil came out like there was no tube up in side just pored out so after i lost 500ms or so i put the plug back in the oil was just gushing out any advice

Pretty much just like you described. The pan has 2 levels, and the plug should be on the upper level. Start and idle the car, make a quick pass through all the gears and get to normal operating temp. Then pull the plug out, the fluid should be level with it, so you should have some just drip out.
How to check the fluid level:
Bring the transmission fluid temperature between 86º– 122ºF (30º–50ºC). You can verify this using a scan tool, the driver information center, or the transmission gauge.
Park the vehicle on level ground.
Start the engine and let it idle.
Shift the transmission through each range, pausing in each range for about 3 seconds to give the clutches a chance to fill.
Place the transmission in park.
Remove the level control plug located in the transmission oil pan. The fluid should drip out the level control hole. If so, the fluid level is okay.
If fluid doesn’t drip from the level control hole,add Dexron VI until fluid starts to drip from the hole.
If fluid runs from the hole, wait until the fluid stops running out to lower the fluid to the proper level.
The level is correct when fluid drips from the hole. If a steady stream is present or no flow is present the fluid level is incorrect. Readjust the fluid level, and reinstall the fill plug and the level control plug.
You can add fluid through the dipstick hole or through the level control hole

just to con firm there is NO DRAIN PLUG ON THE BOTTOM of the pan it is a oil level plug( it looks like A DRAIN PLUG )
how do you empty the trans if you want to do a compleat oil change as theres no drain plug do you have to remove the pan with the 10lt of oil in it ?
is the filler plug the one on the drivers side (over here in OZ ) how does it come out it does lift up a bit but doesent seam to want to come all the way out ?
mine must be realy over full from new ??AS the oil just poures out the plug in the bottom of the pan

The plug in the middle at the rear (upper) part of the pan is described as "trans oil level check plug - model dependant"
Presumably you add oil in through that plug too.
The bottom pan holds 6.2L of oil and its common for there to be no drain plug!
