4L60E Trans Swap Can anyone tell me if a 1994 4L60E transmission without the nuetral safety switch will work in a vehicle that originally had the nuetral safety switch? The transmissions look identical other than the switch. I was told by one shop that all I needed to to is install the longer gear selector arm that engages the switch. Then another shop told me that this was incorrect because the wiring would be different going to the transmission. I already own the 1994 transmission and have aquired the gear selector shaft, I stopped working on it when i was told of the wiring issues. I have found from past experiences that the best advice is not always given from a shop that wants your money. Any knowledge would be greatly appreciated.

What year model vehicle are you swapping it into? Are you going to the use the factory PCM or aftermarket trans controller? The aftermarket trans controller won't care if you have the wrong year model trans, but the factory PCM will.
