Default T56 to TH400

Im really considering this swap, depending on how much money it will require. so here is a list of questions.

1. how much is a t56 set up worth with roughly 10k mi on it and ls7 clutch...stock tranny?
2. Who to look into for a Th400 set up with a stall in the 4k-4.4k range?
3. Right now my car is set up on a launch controller, any use in it on an auto?
4. My rear gear is 4.11s...how will this work with the 3spd with 28in tires as far as driving around town and going through the 8th mile.

A few of the reasons why im considering the set up. I need a new clutch set up...so im looking at 1k with the possibility of snapping the stock transmition...and I have to run 28in tall Bias ply tires to compete...which basically kicks me out off any fesible KOS style race. So i figure just swap to an auto now and recover some money out of the T56 set up before i scatter it all over the road and have to spend 2k to fix it. And it may be somewhat fun to leave the line with out having jump through hoops to get one decent launch.

Any help would be appreciated

Ive used the search but couldnt find anything useful

4.11s with 28" tall tire may be to much for a 4k stall. I highly recommend perfomabuilt for a pretty much invincible th400. For reference I sold my "built" t56 for $900 locally a bad 5th gear syncro and he already had another t56. So I kept the bellhousing and shifter, sold the bellhousing for $125, and shifter for another $120 and almost gained what i put into the rebuild. You also have to lookup all the little things like dipstick, a new shifter, center console, pedal assembly, trans cooler, etc. all that adds up. By the time im done getting the trans and stall which im getting the 10.5 billet b/c im spraying which is $945 i will have well over 2k in the swap. The trans alone is $1400 w/o rmvb or transbrake.

From the little bit of research ive been able to do, I should be able to get 1500-2000 out of my trans and everything for a 6spd swap. So a 2k+ build wouldnt be out of the question. at what point do you really need to look into a nitrous converter?

Well you should be able to grant it your trans. is good to go and clutch isnt about shot. On top of what I sold my trans, bellhousing and shifter, I still sold my monster stage 3 clutch BNIB for $600. Every vendor has their different style converters and each one has a recommended nitrous converter for your setup. The billet converter from performabuilt, is a custom made piece to your specs not an off the shelf one. Typically the say is if your n/a your fine with a non billet, power adders they recommend the billet.
