transmission swap question
alright well i just rebuilt my motor and now i'm basically fucked.... so for the first time ever doing this we didnt get the torque converter aligned and basically broke the front pump... but this trans also was having issues before we even rebuilt the motor with either a 3-4 clutch pack or something that would cause a similar issue... so my question is, i have another 4l60e that came out of a caprice with an lt1 and i am pretty sure that it is a 94 also but not sure, and i know the tailshaft is different, but other than swapping tailshafts will they be interchangeable? can i just get the casting numbers off of the other trans and put them up here to see if they will work because its sitting in the garage and see if it will work by matching up the casting numbers or something like that? what can i do here?

that was kind of a mess to read lol... but it sounds like as long as the tailshaft is swapped to work and i may have to run a wire from the pcm to one fo the trans plug ins or something like that, but other than that it should work it sounds like...

Squeals99; If your wanting to save the hassle of taking a chance with the other tranny (caprice trans) going out, LMK!
I can get you in contact with a buddy of mine who builds them and he'd rebuild the 4L60E for you for about $450-$500.
He built my level 4 Transmission for my Z and it ran me $1700. Works like a dream... Just had a small issue after beating on it all summer with a 10 second car. LOL But he rebuilt it again for $300.00.
(That was All Parts/He didn't charge me any labor)
He also did the Transmission in my Truck for $500
Great guy to deal with. And he has built over 30+ transmissions for friends of mine.
Good Luck Buddy!
PM me if your interested.
