Default Can someone please explain the str rate

Hi guys I've read countless posts but I cant seem to find a clear explanation on the str rate. I know the larger the str rate the harder the converter will hit because of the higher torque multiplication. But does a higher str rate mean a looser converter down low? Meaning the engine wil rev more to get the car moving in daily traffic? I would think a lower str would take more rpm because the motors torque is not multiplied as much but Ive heard a lower str will not hit as hard but will feel tighter when leaving a stop light....
