Default powerglide trans

I have a important decision to make and i need help I have a powerglide denibear case with a 10 disk clutch, harden input shaft so far im building. I gonna have a pro tree trans brake I would like to know do I REALLY need a straight cut planitary gear set or can i get away with the helicoil set up. Note my car is a turbo car so it will not be leaving hard like a nos car or n/a car and im planning on running like mid to low 8's, I say about 1200 hp at the rear tires. I hope. My gear in the rear end is gonna be like a 3.50 gear.

I'd recommend a straight cut 1.80 planetary. At your HP level, the helical cut gears have a tremendous thrust and will wear out the thrust washers quickly. A stock output shaft won't handle that power very long either. You'll be glad that you splurged. Although they aren't cheap, I've shopped around and have found complete units for less than $800.

With all the good parts you already have i would not jepordize trashing them when the stock 1.76 blows up. I would recomend the 180 straights for sure. We have them in stock and they come with a two year warranty. They have 9310 gears and pins with a 4340 output shaft for 895.00. we also have them with a billet carrier and a 300m gears and 300 m output for 1195.00. Or one step further we have them with the TH400 300m output for up to 3000 hp for 1595.00 Call or pm and i will get one out for you.
