need some advice please? Alright, Im putting in a low miles 4l60e a4 trans in my 98 v6 camaro. I was wondering how I can tell if I need a new torque converter cause the trans im getting dont come with one, and can I somehow flush out the converter I have? Anyone who has done something like this please give me some pointers thanks. Oh while Im in their Im going to replace the rear main seal any special brand of seal I should get? If some one knows of some sticky on this please post the link. thanks.

Torque converter replacement. If you plan to reuse your original converter then pull the pan off the old trans and look for metal sediment if any get another converter. and flush the trans cooler. if the oil is dark then you get it flushed however you are only putting in a used trans anyway. so it will be OK . Was the transmission lockup working OK before , If not then the friction clutch could be worn in the converter. While the trans is apart do you want a higher stall convertrer, now is the time to change it.
