Low RWHP...could it be the Vig?

Default Low RWHP...could it be the Vig?

I have a full bolt on h/c car. 224 cam with prc 2.5 5.3 heads. I have a Vig 3600 converter. My car only dynoed 375 rwhp. I see A4's with cam only doing better on the dyno than me and most of them have a Yank converter. Do Vigs dyno low compared to Yank? Any Vig vs yank comparisons out there? Thanks!

I can only speak for my own combo and I'm an LT1 car, but I dyno'd 375 rwhp on a Mustang dyno when I had a Vig 3600...but I ran the times/mph in my sig at that power level...I've since had my 3600 restalled to 4000, but have no dyno numbers...I hate dyno numbers though, as they can be very easily manipulated and dyno numbers don't win races...How is your tune? a/f? etc...and how does the car feel to drive?

it feels strong but only runs low 12's at 112-113 on motor. Never ran it at the track on the spray.

Your car should be running better then that IMO. Sounds like something may be slightly off with your set-up. I hate to say it but maybe its a tuning related issue. My car ran 12 flat @ 111 in 90 degree heat with only a tr224/3200 Edge/bolt ons and full weight, stock suspension and it dyno'd 380hp

I agree it should run better. I really dont think it is the tune. Ive had it tuned twice by two different tuners on two different dynos. One time it did 380 second time 375. That is a NA tune not a tune for the nitrous. I dunno. There is a guy near me who made almost 400 cam only with an auto with i think a 224/228 cam. I have stock rear with after market shocks/struts, torque arm, lca with relos, panhard, sub frames so pretty much everything for better traction at the track.

Maybe you should compression/ leak down test the motor??? Just a thought here. Do you have any valve float possibly?
