Default GTO 4L80E conversion has begun from M6

for several reasons, I feel it's time for a new direction.

Going with a 4L80E from Andy & Chuck at Finish Line Transmissions. If the tranny is as good as the customer service, it's gonna be a great tranny. Guys always answer the phones, return emails and not just "yes / no" answers, they took the time to explain and offer solutions.

Level 5 4L80E should ship March 5th.

Ordered a Yank SC3000 converter and their SFI flexplate. David with Yank has also been extremely helpful. Torque converter & flexplate shipping with the 4L80E.

Ordered a Carbon Fiber drive shaft billet yoke & pinion from Chris GForce1320. Thanks for putting up with all my questions, and I am looking forward to another great product! (also have his rear coil over kit.. it's awesome!)

Decided on adding a Derale deep pan, and Atomic cooler with fan, all the Proflex lines and fittings, Lokar flex dip stick, picked up an A4 shifter and break pedal assembly. Have a PCS unit & harness on order that is a stand alone tcm unit with endless adjustments via laptop.

Thanks goes out to Ray aka Raymond for picking up the brake pedal & shifter from a yard in Alabama for me. And to Phil aka 06 Blue Devil for tracking down a core and saving me a chunk of money. Also to Travis aka T-bones goat, CoolAid, and HydroStream6 for their input / suggestions and knowledge. If this doesn't work.... I'm hunting you down! LOL.

Thanks to all the guys on the forum that bought up all the M6 stuff! Your money is being well spent. LOL

Special thanks to Kyle aka silverstreak04 and Josh aka LSPWR for their wrenching and wiring.

don't know why, but I don't seem to have many pictures of the dismantle. But I will take many more of the installation.

no spray. The current 427 & TVS2300 was making 17lbs. of boost with a severely slipping belt, that we hopefully have corrected now, should be closer to 20lbs. With all that said, we are looking at or just over 800rwhp. And the TVS makes boost so soon, not a lot of need to bring the rpms up to high, and the SC3000 should flash to 3400 or 3600.

Well see soon, tranny due to ship Monday.

Hi Tom, I´ve been considering this swap too, so this is very interesting. What made you choose the PCM controller over the HGM?

^^^ what is the HGM ?

never mind.. google works wonders! I went with the pcs system for a few reasons. Another GTO owners experience, and the unit is also made for other companies with their private label on it.
