Default wallowing out flexplate holes.....

I bought a Ls-1 th400 converter for my th400 swap. It has 2 bolt holes on each mounting pad, one innerset and one outerset. I was told that I had to wallow out the holes in the flexplate to get the converter bolts to fit and line up. if any of you guys ever had to do this, how much did you have to do? I'm worried about going too much. Will I be ok?
I can post a pic later.

Default

yea doing this in my home garage. The trans is bolted in and converter lined up where it needs to be on the flexplate. I keep grinding away the bore of the flexplate bolt hole towards the outer edge of the plate and the bolt is getting closer to going in. I am just worried because where the bolt hole is on the flexplate looks like it's flat, and I dont wanna grind out of the flat spot to somewhere that may be a bit curved.
