Default B.O.P.TH400 on a 02 5.3

So im looking for info putting a B.O.P TH400 behind my new 5.3 setup going into a gbody.... i cant really find anything. I read somewhere that a chevy th400 bolts right up 2 a 5.3?
all info would be great

yea its got the factory flexplate on it now but that could easliy change if i wanted

It is possible to do, you will need to get a BOP to Chevy TH400 adapter plate. Also, you might need a spacer to get the torque converter onto the flexplate.

It may or might not work.

Very good idea to bolt this up on the ground as a test fit before you go too far, there has been a lot of conflicting information on this since GM changed the flexplate/spacer/crank somewhere around the year you have.


now could i do an ultrabell? or is there even a ultra bell offered for ls stuff. and then just have a company build a convertor to fit my setup?

And yes defineatly let your converter company know what you're doing, this way they can recommend parts that they know work.


PS I said elongate the holes in the converter, I meant holes in the flexplate for the converter.
i have to elongate the holes in the flexplate if i use a stock one correct...what about if u bump to a tci or something aftermarket
