transbrake engagement question.....

I have a Hipster transbrake, and I understand how it works, but I'm wondering if it will engage in any gear other than first if the button is accidentally hit? IF you are in 2nd or 3rd and accidentally hit it will it lock reverse in????? or will it only engage reverse when it's in first?

mine only works in 3rd gear, I have a full electronic trans though

It really depends on the brake.
