Default 4L60E problems

I'm having problems with the converter staying locked on the highway. If i'm locked up in overdrive and i let off the gas to coast and try to give it gas again the converter wont lock back up unless i let off the gas, tap the brakes and give it gas again. It locks hard though and will stay locked untill i go to coast again then it will unlock and i'll have to repeat the gas and brake method to relock it. Also there is no engine braking what so ever. i can put it in second at 55-60 mph and the rpm's drop to 2000 and wait for me to give it gas then once it reaches about 3500-4000 rpms it starts goin again. We also tried to manually lock the converter in 3rd for WOT with the computer but it wouldn't go, but it will lock up when it's supposed to all other times just cruising. It's a built trans with a triple disc 4200 - 4400 loose stall. Could this be a tuning issue or should i be looking more at hardware issues? Tuner is coming up this weekend to see what the computer is telling the trans to do.
Thanks,
Matt

I wouldnt be driving it until you see what codes are being thrown and see what your tunner says. If the stall is going bad it will throw metal particles in your tranny.
