Default Pump Body Bushing Replacement?

Do you have to remove the pump body to install the pump body bushing? I am about to install a new converter, and figured I would put a new seal in, and had also read that the bushing can be prone to wear, and cause a leak.

Thanks

What transmission? Typically, if you replace the bushing with the pump installed, you'll need a special remover and driver for it.

Some old 4L60's had problems with the bushing walking out so GM cast in a small ridge in the bushing bore that prevents it from coming out forward. (tip if you take it apart and drive the bushing out/in)

Even if the bushing stop wasn't there it's not common, maybe not even possible to pull the bushing out of the front due to the stator support being in the way.
Ok, thanks for the info. I was thinking you had to. I will just put the seal in.
