4L60E In Limp Mode

Ive got a 97 LT1 hooked to a 4L60E and the damn thing takes off in 2nd. What causes it to go into limp mode and how can i diagnose this?

If you have a computer problem the 4L60E goes into 2nd and stays in 2nd. It might be a short or a tuning problem and the computer is not sending the info it need to.
