4L80 Interchangable years?

4L80 Interchangable years? I have a 01' 2500 HD with a 6.0 AND A 4l80E transmission. It has some transmission issues. I was wondering what all years are a direct replacement for the transmission in my truck, without having to do anything but swap transmissions. I dont want to have to change a bunch of stuff and buy alot of extra parts since the truck is mainly just a weekend driver. Any help would be greaty appreciated.

I have another transmission. I am getting ready to go to the shop to look at the tag to find out what year the transmission is. I just dont want to pull the old one and find out that the one I have will not work.
pretty sure around 94-2003
4 whl drive?
sup early units 93 back had a diff force motor voltage value
2004-up changed something on the valve body, used a diff plug on the force motor, but might not affect anything
latter ones used a 12 o clock bolt hole also
hopefully someone with more experience will chime in-if you can afford the down time, i would rebuild the one you have
there is a tag on the side with the year of the trans

The transmission in the truck has shifting issues. It feels realy weak like it is worn out. It shifts realy soft when you first drive it. Then if you hit the highway and run around 60mph for a few minutes, it shifts harder than any racecar I have driven. It shifts so hard it cracked the flexplate. I am kinda afraid to rebuild it and end up with the same problem I have now.

I looked at my Transmission I have to go in it. I lucked out so far. The tag shows that the Transmission is a 2001 the same year as the truck. So it should be a plug and play application. Thanks for the responses.
