trans filter change on 95 z28 HELP

i can't get the seal to go in after filter change, the seal that holds the filter in, antone know what i can do to fix it?

are you sure the old one is out??? i have used a same sized socket to help it in one time.....it really should not be that hard..........the hard part is getting the old 1 out

yes the old one is out, took me about an hour to get it out but can,t get the new one in
