Default 2600 stall?

how should a 2600 stall work under part throttle, i just bought a car that has a stall in it that i can footbrake to 2600rpm and under part throttle it stays at a constant 3000 rpm or so until 45 mph then it locks in over drive and bogs down. you can here it shift into 2nd, 3rd and 4th but the rps stay constant.

Has to have a higher stall rating than 2600 if you can footbrake it to 2600. Just guessing here but I'd say it's a 3200-3600 stall converter.

ok but under part throttle it should still lock and you should be able to see the rpms drop between shifts shouldnt you.

Depending on str . but the converter is definately at least a 32-3600 if you can hold it there on the foot brake!!

I have never seen RPMs drop in any stalled A4. The GF had a 3200 in hers and it didn't move.
