i like the way the factory cable adjusts, plus i think they want way too much for that peice. I'll spend my money where its needed. If you dont get the TV cable just right you'll burn the trans up no matter who built it or what parts you have in it.
I sent Mike that link to see what he thinks about it and he's going to let me know what he thinks about it. I dont know which kit Im going to go with. Is it hard to get the cable just right? I certainly dont want to spend all that money getting the tranny built to burn it up. Thanks.
Im not sure if youre referring to the adapter on the tranny, but I dont know of anyone that is running it because bolting it straight up is just fine. Dont get me wrong, Im sure there is people out there that are, but its really not a must. I believe there are 2 bolts that will not be used, but I know a few going into the 10s with no problems.
Hmmmmmm....all of this is very interesting and I'm learning alot I hope. I think the 200 will be in the TA within the next month probably so I will definitely be learning soon.
Just no more of that to do.
I think that I will enjoy the launch though. I find it hard to believe that I will beat my current best 60' which is 1.41 with the M6. I do like the ideas of 1.3's being in my possible near future though.
The funny thing is is that have talked to several places over the last couple of weeks and no one says that they can build a 200 to handle the power that I will be putting to it which is closer to 750/800 at the flywheel. The only one that said yeah mine will do it is Mike. Oh but we shall soon see huh!

Well if youre having doubts that it wont hold up because of what people are telling you, get with the people that built your motor (Texas Speed & Performance) and talk to Trevor. He's running the 200-4R built by Mike Kurtz. They are selling those as a complete kit now. Everything that you need to do a swap.
Yeah I have been talking to Trevor about this Tranny for a while now and he is supposed to have me a complete price by Tomorrow for everything including the DS and the converter and all.
The only thing that I may buy local and research here is a shifter and I will wait and see which one I want there.
BTW do those Buicks weigh more than our cars really
the raceweight on mine is close to 3800.

BTW you'll lose alot of weight with the swap. I lost 30lb just from the 4l60e to 200r4. I would think you would lose 50lb or so, the 6speed trannys are heavier then the 4l60es
Yeah it seems that all I have done is add weight...12 bolt....iron block.....roll cage...what else I'm sure there is more.
The car might go 9's if it were lighter as it sits. The auto should bring it close though.
BTW I went over to turbobuicks to see about their opinion and it pretty much sucks......

We still had the 200 4R in our car when it ran 10.20 @ 132ish n/a, and 10.3's - 10.4's consistantly. The only problem we've had is during the burnout it likes to spin fluid out the breather hose sometimes. I'll probably be installing a catch can in the engine compartment to take care of that mess. We'd like to run a transbrake, so this one may be sold for another setup soon, but I have no doubts this transmission will hold into the 9 sec range easily, probably anything N/A it can take.
Edit: We recently converted to non-lockup converter which is a very simple kit you install in the pump along with non-lockup converter. It seemed to save a little weight off the converter, new converter dry weighed 18lbs! Its also a 5200 stall. If we keep it, we'll have another converter made for the low 4000 range for N20 use also.

Joseph, was your 200r4 built by Century? How many low 10 sec passes did has it gone thru?
I ask because I am switching to probably a 200r4 when I get a chance and would like to hear good things about it. Do you think it will outlast the 4l60E as far as durability?
How does a non-computer controlled tranny act differently in a daily driving scenario compared to a computer controlled? Other than TQ mngmnt and tuning. I haven't ridden in too many non computer controlled trannys.
I am at my wits end with the T-56. I can't get a good pass out of my car no matter how much I baby it and spend thousands into it. I could've bought 2 century 200r4s for what I have in all of my built T-56s, clutches, masters, slaves, ect.
Thanks for the help,
Wes

Mike Kurtz rebuilt my 4l60e after it went out last year. Turns out the vig3200 fell apart and trashed it. He told me after he rebuilt it, it could handle 9's. Last night my tranny went out again, only reverse works, the forward gears just squeal. I never raced the car, I never took it to the track, I baby it everywhere I go. I don't get why it went out again if it was supposed to be so great, especially for the price I payed to get it rebuilt! Oh this sucks

Damn it... Everyone talks so much **** about all these bad *** vendors and no can reeally seem to back it up. What the hell? There's gotta be someone out there who can build a good tranny.
