Odd 6l80e issues A buddy dropped his 07 A6 vette off for me to look at.
A little back ground, he blew the transmission up last year (magnacharger, big cam etc). He had it rebuilt by RPM and was installed around Oct. Works ok for a few weeks and starts slipping. Takes it back to the local tuner and while they have it the TCM goes out, months go by as they fight TCM communication issues, PCM/TCM pair issues etc. Finally they get everything working BUT the trans still acts weird. It will shift sort of ok in sport mode (manually) but in auto it hunts for gears, jumping from 2nd to 6th, all sort of odd stuff. So it's been at this shop for months and they finally throw in the towel and say they can't fix it.
I just took it for a drive and the most noticeable thing is that it feels like it selecting 1st and reverse at the same time. At idle in gear if you blip the throttle it'll move forward but immediately stop like you are riding the brakes. In neutral with your foot off the brakes it will reverse, even up a slight incline.
So is this a solenoid pack with trash in it or would it be programming? Ideas?
