Default Stall and FI

My car has a Maggie and is already hard to launch on the stock converter and street tires due to excessive low-end torque. Will it be any quicker off the line with a 3000-3200 stall?

Seems like it would complement cammed NA, Procharged, and turbo'd cars more than maggied ones.

If it doesn't help from a dig, will it be more useful from a roll? Read alot about stall characteristics, but never had one and am looking for opinions.
