Default 4L80E Questions from a newb

Ive done searching, looked through FAQs and even posted in a couple threads that were already on that topic.

Ive found some lists of cars that should have a 4L80E.

99 Silverado 1500 was one in particular that I gathered SHOULD of had one. But Ive been trying to source one from car-part.com and a few of the places say its a 4L60E.

Could they just be wrong? Am I wrong? Do the same trucks have a 60E and 80E option?

Thanks for the help guys.

I don't think the 80E is an option for a 1500 truck. They surely came in 2500 and 3500 trucks and vans.

Quite possible.

Just one of the threads I read linked to the 4L80E wikipedia and it says 91+ Silverado. So I didnt know which ones.

So I was wondering if anyone had a more definitive list. Like I know there are threads that have damn near every single car/truck lsx motors come in haha.

Just wondering if there was something similar for the 80E

Thanks for the response.

I think he was saying that in your search for a 4l80e you should try to locate a donor truck that had a 6.0 in it, since they are more common to have an 80. in reference to your 1500 question, some 1500hd silverados were 6Ls so it's possible.

Pretty much anything with a Big Block from 92 + (and the 6.5 diesels as well).
