Default ratios

hi
i just wana ask if there is any way to change transmition ratios ....... coz i wana shorten my ratios coz my 2 gear falls really down comparing with my friends car that has changed the ratios ..... i asked him ones about his ratios but nothing entered in my head so ......first i need simple information then go deep so i can understand ....

4L60E? Not that I know of. It's 1.625 and I believe you're stuck with it. A good stall converter would be the cure of choice.

Sometimes a lower rearend gear will mask the spacing between gear ratios,but I've never heard of anyone changing the actual ratios in a 4L60E transmission.

go there. if you know a good trans guy he may be able to swap out one of the sun gears but beware: to tighten up your 1-2 ratio you would have to lower your 1st gear ratio. on the + side depending on which sun gear you change it may give you a taller overdrive.
this is all theroy mind you. i dont know much about it other than how the calculations work.
